This poster series was created through the Sputnik program at the California College of Arts and Crafts for the summer extended education program in collaboration with faculty fine artist Raymond Saunders. The posters were co-designed with Jennifer Andreoni. Each letter was hand-stamped, scanned, and arranged.
One of my favorite projects for Limn magazine was creating the press kit for advertisers. I wanted something really tactile and I knew of a place over by UC Berkeley that could print blue prints the old fashioned way. But what I really loved is that you could also do a brown print. Who knew! The powerful smell of ammonia used during the process could almost knock you over, but the prints came out with a velvety texture that is so rich you almost want to take a bite. Each book was then hand-trimmed, drilled, and bound together with Chicago screws. To finish off the kit we then took a drive down the coast to a company that packaged smoked salmon–they were the only people we could find with a large enough industrial vacuum packer to seal each booklet in with two issues of Limn.
